Workers at Prescot cooker manufacturer Glen Dimplex Home Appliances in Liverpool have voted by 73 percent for strike action and 83 percent in favour of action short of a strike.
The 400 workers in the Community union made their decision after the company cancelled the third instalment of a three-year pay deal. The company is making overtime work available while failing to implement the pay deal.
The union has begun an overtime ban and a two-hour early finish for all departments for the next three weeks.
Workers are also planning to picket the factory in the morning this Saturday and Sunday and are discussing further action.
