The threat of action over pay at the National Physical Laboratory has seen management make a new offer.
Members of the Prospect civil service workers’ union rejected a zero percent offer by 82 percent and voted for industrial action.
Management have now tabled a 1.5 percent offer, which is still below inflation and would effectively mean a pay cut.
Action has been suspended while workers ballot on the new offer. This ends on Friday of next week.
