Drivers at DHL Runcorn were set to strike for four days from Friday this week.
The workers, who are members of the Unite union, voted by 83 percent to take strike action after ten drivers employed on a DHL contract with Howdens Kitchens were made redundant.
All of the redundancies were compulsory, including the drivers’ union rep.
Unless management make concessions the workers plan to take another four days of strike action the following Friday.
Solidarity from drivers at other DHL depots will be vital. It can help to put the maximum pressure on the company to return to negotiations.
