Strikes by workers at Culture and Sport Glasgow (CSG) will hit a major swimming event in the city this weekend.
Bosses’ plans mean a wage cut for nearly 200 workers.
The 1,600 Bectu, GMB, Unison and Unite union members have struck for four days so far, shutting down tourist attractions, sports centres, museums and libraries.
The unions now plan to strike in different workplaces to shut down large events.
Strikes at Glasgow’s Tollcross Sports Centre from Friday to Sunday of this week will affect swimming championships, which are to be held in the centre’s pool.
But limiting action to one centre is a step back—it will reduce the pressure on the bosses. United action across the city is the way to win.
