The nominating period for the general secretary election in Unite, Britain’s biggest union, has begun.
Socialist Worker is supporting rank and file candidate Jerry Hicks, a left wing activist who was victimised out of his job at Rolls Royce in Bristol.
Jerry needs a combination of 50 branch and workplace rep nominations to get on the ballot paper.
The nomination months are July and August and union members should be ensuring their branch meetings are discussing backing Jerry’s campaign. The election will take place in October.
