Anti-fascist activists will gather outside a London court to show their support for Unite Against Fascism (UAF) national officer Martin Smith as he stands trial next month.
Martin faces a serious charge following the demonstration against British National Party leader Nick Griffin’s appearance on the BBC’s Question Time programme last year.
Martin, who is also a national co-ordinator of Love Music Hate Racism, was arrested on the protest.
He has been charged with assaulting a police officer—a charge he strenuously denies.
Martin’s hearing is at 9am on Tuesday 7 September. Bring your banners and download a model motion to pass in your union.
Assemble 7 September, South Western Magistrates Court, 176a Lavender Hill, London SW11 1JU. See www.uaf.org.uk
