Workers at Arriva Trains Wales are taking unofficial action over an “unacceptable” pay offer and conditions.
Drivers, train guards and conductors have all made themselves unavailable for work on Sundays, hitting rail services in the Cardiff, Valleys and Vale of Glamorgan areas.
Now the Aslef drivers’ union is balloting its 500 members at the company for strikes over pay. The ballot ends on 11 November.
The company has tabled a 3.2 percent pay increase for train drivers over two years, with 3 percent for guards and conductors. Workers are demanding 4 percent.
