Nearly 70 delegates from further education colleges in Scotland shrugged off the snow and met in Glasgow at an emergency EIS conference over the cuts last week.
A series of motions—ranging from a call for a general strike, ballots over the threat to pensions, opposition to redundancies, and action to resist the government—were passed overwhelmingly.
Almost all the delegates came to a lunchtime meeting to hear an electrifying speech from a student.
