Remploy workers have reacted with fury to bosses’ demands for voluntary redundancies.
The company, which employs a large number of disabled staff, has shed more than 2,000 jobs since 2008.
The GMB, Unite and Community unions are urging their members at Remploy sites not to take voluntary redundancy as this would be tantamount to “selling a job that’s not yours to sell”.
Kevin Hepworth of Unite said, “What a disgrace. This comes just a month after directors awarded themselves bonuses of over £1 million.”
