Journalists in Warrington, Cheshire, walked out for two days last week against seven compulsory redundancies.
The NUJ members at five local newspapers, owned by the huge Newsquest corporation, held large and lively picket lines.
Strikers reported that more people were active in the strike than on a previous walkout over the same issue in September.
They work at the Warrington Guardian, Northwich Guardian, Sale and Altrincham Messenger, St Helens Star and The Wirral Globe newspapers.
