Six unions have launched a joint high court challenge against the government’s decision to change the inflation index used to increase public sector pensions.
The Tories switched the measure from RPI to the usually lower CPI, slicing huge amounts off millions of people’s pensions.
The move was announced in the budget with no negotiation or consultation.
The six unions bringing the case are the FBU, NASUWT, POA, PCS, Unison and Unite.
