Capita action suspended

Strikes planned over Christmas by workers at TV Licensing contractor Capita have been postponed.

CWU assistant secretary Andy Furey said, “The company planned to deduct a whole day’s pay from our members even if they just took half a day’s action.

“The CWU believes that this is extremely unreasonable, but, with no time available to resolve this, we have decided—in the interests of our members—to suspend the planned action.”

He said it would “give both sides an opportunity for some calm reflection over the festive break”.
