We started marching from different parts of Alexandria on the morning of 25 January. At noon there were not many of us, but then the numbers exceeded all our expectations.
On the workers’ marches they used the revolutionary slogans replacing the names of Field Marshal Tantawi with the names of their bosses. These workers then joined with students from the university.
From the other side of the city another feeder march assembled, including one at the Two Saints Christian Copt church where over 20 people died in a bomb attack in 2010.
These marched to meet up with the workers and other demonstrators assembling at the city’s military zone. The chants that dominated were against Scaf and calling for the end of military rule.
People also called for better wages, justice for the martyrs who had been killed during the revolution and the removal of corrupt bosses.
