Members of the NUJ journalists union at the Thompson Reuters news agency were set to walk out for 48 hours from Thursday over a below-inflation pay offer.
The workers voted by 83 percent for strikes against a derisory 1.75 percent pay offer. It is set to be the first time journalists at the agency have struck in 25 years.
