Management consultancy firm McKinsey and Company have spent thousands of pounds on lavish events for top NHS regulators.
Documents released under the Freedom of Information Act reveal that the company has been centrally involved in drawing up Lansley’s NHS bill, and has even written some sections of the legislation.
And it has used its privileged access to share information with its clients in the private healthcare sector.
If the bill is passed, most of the £106 billion NHS budget will be opened up to private firms, including McKinsey clients.
McKinsey has already made at least £13.8 million from the NHS since the coalition took office.
