Some 460 train drivers in the Aslef union at East Midlands Trains struck on Tuesday and Thursday of last week over pensions.
Bosses are proposing to pay less money into the drivers’ pension fund.
Andy, one of the pickets, said, “In a year or two they’ll be back saying there’s not enough money in it, and they have to cut the pension.”
PCS activist Clara Harmer organised a delegation to visit the picket line in Nottingham.
They talked about the need to combine the pensions fight and work together across the public and private sectors.
The workers plan to strike on Tuesdays and Thursdays for the next two weeks.
