Some 40 people protested at Portsmouth International Ferry Port on Saturday of last week.
The protest was called by the Southampton shipping branch of the RMT union against Condor Ferries’ use of legal loopholes against workers recruited abroad.
The workers are paid just £2.35 an hour, and work 12 hour shifts seven days a week. All workers should have the same rights, no matter where they are from.
Condor cancelled Sunday sailing and loaded passengers early to avoid the protest. More action is planned for 18 August.
