Around 50 people gathered in central London on Sunday of last week to remember the 31 people killed in the fire at King’s Cross underground station 25 years ago. The event was backed by the RMT and FBU unions.
The dead included firefighter Colin Townsley. The speakers stressed that the death toll was so high because there were not enough staff to help people out—and that with more job cuts a tragedy could happen again
